Peg-Leg Resurfaces
April 2, 2009
Once again, just in time for the Spring, Peg-Leg
has been showing up in the yards of the neighbourhood.
It’s been many months since I’ve seen him; in fact, I don’t
think I saw him once, all Winter long.
Now he’s back. My neighbour has been putting a
bowl with a nut and apple mixture out for him for
the past couple of days.
You can see the two spots on his head when the antlers
will be sprouting. Usually by May they start to become
visible.
Early Spring Clean-Up
March 16, 2009
Even though it’s not quite Spring, the weather
has been getting milder. Raking up the dead grass
and leaves was on the agenda this past
week-end. Even Bear was itching to get outside
and explore the surroundings.
Buds on the Chokecherry tree and Tiger Lilies starting to poke through the ground.
Spring is in the air! Even Bear wanted to get in on the action.

I wish I know what he was saying, or singing. The pattern has changed
noticeably over the past year.

Skating at the new Churchill Park Outdoor Rink
January 25, 2009
This is a new outdoor rink on the spot of the former lawn bowling club.
Only one half of the surface is being utilised, and I’m not sure if there
are plans to claim the other half as an ice surface.
At any rate, it looks like it’s a hit with the neighbours.
